Director of Strategic Accounts

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic-minded Director of Strategic Accounts to lead our efforts in expanding our footprint in K-12 education and industry across the country, with a focus on the nation’s largest and most diverse school districts. This role will be instrumental in driving sales growth, managing a team of consultants, overseeing conference strategy, and shaping our company's strategy to meet the unique needs of strategic education markets. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sales background, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of educational challenges in communities across the nation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Partner Experience, and Product Development, build and maintain client relationships, and ensure the successful execution of the strategic accounts business plan.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales and Revenue Growth:

  • Drive sales initiatives and revenue growth strategies within the region.
  • Monitor sales pipelines and work closely with teams to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Implement and monitor accountability of territory performance data in CRM to ensure an accurate reflection of the pipeline and sales activity.
  • Identify opportunities to expand market share and profitability.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and expand market share in designated strategic accounts.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop customized solutions, proposals, and presentations that address challenges and opportunities, with specialized expertise in large and diverse school districts.

Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers in strategic accounts, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner.
  • Understand customer needs, challenges, and objectives to propose solutions and services that drive value and foster long-term partnerships.
  • Ensure exceptional service delivery and customer satisfaction, overseeing the resolution of issues and the implementation of corrective actions as needed.
  • Build and manage relationships with internal team and cross-functional staff to ensure maximum impact for customer experience and territory revenue growth.

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Oversee team of expert consultants, ensuring alignment with client objectives and delivering high-quality solutions and services that generate revenue.
  • Collaborate with consultants to provide expert advice, innovative strategies, and actionable insights that address large and diverse education challenges and drive client success.
  • Monitor project progress, timelines, and resource allocation to optimize consultant efficiency and achieve sales outcomes.

Conference Strategy and Thought Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a strategic conference and events strategy for strategic conferences aligned to your overarching business plan, enhancing brand visibility and generating leads.
  • Identify relevant conferences, seminars, and industry events to participate in, coordinating logistics, presentations, and follow-up activities.
  • Leverage conferences as platforms for thought leadership, networking, and showcasing our commitment to innovation.

Company Strategy for Large and Diverse School Districts/Education:

  • Lead and influence the company's strategic direction and initiatives related to urban education markets and other large school district communities, aligning with industry trends, client needs, and organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic plans, initiatives, and partnerships that drive growth and impact in large school district communities/education.
  • Stay informed about legislative changes, policy developments, and emerging opportunities in urban & large school district education to inform strategic decision-making.

Fiscal Responsibility:

  • Adhere to budget by managing travel, sales, and account management expenses.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant sales experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the education technology industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level.
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
  • Strong business sense and industry expertise in the K-12 education technology market.
  • Displays strong skills in the areas of strategic thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability.
