Real-world performance tasks are well suited to meeting the educational goals of Virginia’s Standards of Learning and Profile of a Graduate. They enhance instruction by fostering student DEVELOPMENT OF THE 5 C’S and providing opportunities for students to APPLY CONTENT and skills and DEMONSTRATE MASTERY — the essence of the Standards.
Defined Learning provides an online library of PRE-BUILT PERFORMANCE TASKS that ALIGN TO VIRGINIA’S STANDARDS. Each task is based on a situation in a relevant career and provides opportunities for students to deepen understanding and apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios. We provide all of the resources teachers need to implement high-quality tasks including an online student portfolio manager that helps teachers implement and measure MEANINGFUL PROJECT-BASED ASSESSMENTS.
