Meaghan Whitten
Instructional Leader
Meaghan Whitten has been with Defined Learning since 2021. When she was introduced to the platform (then known as DefinedSTEM), she knew it was something so valuable to students and teachers everywhere. She was hooked by the hands-on creative learning and the embedded ELA assignments. As an educator, Meaghan focuses on teaching the whole student and connecting content to their lives outside of the classroom. For Defined Learning, she develops instructional content and provides professional learning opportunities.
A relative newbie to PBL, Meaghan received her BA in Elementary Education and English Literature from Elmira College, her MS Ed in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Walden University, and has done some graduate work in English Literature at SUNY Plattsburgh. She taught middle school ELA in North Carolina and New York for almost twenty years before moving into Instructional Technology. She currently supports teachers integrating technology into their classrooms in districts throughout northern New York. She is also a Girl Scout troop leader and cheers for girls in STEM.
Meaghan lives in the Adirondack Mountains with her family, including four kids. When not creating performance tasks, she enjoys sunshine and relaxing.
