Jordan Menning
Instructional Leader
Jordan began his journey with Defined Learning in 2017 to pursue his passion of supporting educators with positive and meaningful learning experiences that positively impact students. Jordan leads numerous professional learning experiences and has designed a large number of performance tasks across many subjects and grade levels including developing learning opportunities that connect PBL and SEL. Jordan has a passion for making sure every learner has an opportunity to learn through meaningful real-world learning experiences. His passion and beliefs align with Defined’s mission of “when learning is hands-on and self-reliant, students build the confidence they need to take their knowledge into the real world.”
Jordan has had the opportunity to teach 5th and 6th grade Math, English Language Arts and Science. Through his time in the classroom, he developed a deeper understanding of how to provide inquiry-based learning experiences that help build durable skills for students. While teaching, Jordan earned his Master’s degree in the Science of Education to help him become a better educator. Through earning his Master’s Degree, he was given the opportunity to facilitate Master level cohorts through Southwest Minnesota State University. Through his experience leading educators in a master’s program, he transitioned to an Instructional Coach role for the Northwest Area Education Agency (AEA) in Northwest Iowa. Through his time at the Northwest AEA, he has worked with over 50 districts through Instructional Coaching, Science Consulting, and coordinating Future Ready system structures and processes.
Jordan currently resides in northwest Iowa. Jordan enjoys spending time with his family, doing hands-on projects around the house, and cheering on his favorite sports teams.
