Instructional Leader

Michelle began her journey with Defined Learning part-time in 2021 writing tasks and content, particularly focusing on the integration of the IB PYP (International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program) curriculum. Her drive was to assist Defined Learning’s content to have an international flavor and encourage global mindedness in its offerings. Michelle’s beliefs align with Defined Learning’s purpose to make sure every learner has an opportunity to learn through meaningful real-world learning experiences. Michelle has a passion for supporting educators with positive and authentic learning experiences that can make a difference to both teacher and student success!

Michelle has served both students and teachers in various roles during the past 25 years including as a classroom teacher, year level leader, deputy principal, acting principal and as Head of Campus in international schools. She has taught in Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, South Africa, Borneo, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. She holds a Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) from Monash University, (AUST) and earned her Master of Education from University of Melbourne, (AUST) As a lifelong learner, Michelle is currently working on her Doctorate dissertation with Wilkes University, PA. Most recently, she has also stepped back into teaching in the primary classroom, ensuring she is well versed in the current demands placed on our teachers and students! 

Michelle currently lives in Queensland, Australia. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her family, hiking, gardening and of course the beach!
