Ellie Foust
Ellie Foust

Instructional Leader

Ellie Foust joined the Defined Learning team in 2022. Ellie’s passion for education stems from the need to establish authentic opportunities for all students to engage with their community and take notice of the world around them to create positive change. Her dedication aligns perfectly with Defined Learning’s vision to ensure students have access to real world learning and teachers have the tools they need for these opportunities to come to fruition.

Ellie has been an educator for over 20 years and holds a bachelor’s degree in Science and a master’s in Information and Learning Technology. She has used her educational background in a variety of roles throughout her career. Ellie has created and taught a STEAM interdisciplinary based curriculum for middle schoolers, delved into teaching high school AP environmental science and chemistry within a competency based, design thinking high school, established practical ways to successfully incorporate technology within a PBL context, and coached and led professional development around how to effectively integrate PBL into K-12 classrooms. Her latest adventure is as the Dean of Instruction at an urban middle school.

When Ellie is not working she enjoys hanging out with her daughter, hiking, reading, going to see live music, and being “aggressively friendly.”
