Alignment with Wisconsin Standards
Defined’s content aligns with the Wisconsin Academic Standards and Academic and Career Planning (ACP) Framework. Defined helps bridge classroom content with authentic career applications enabling students to develop and transfer knowledge while building essential future-ready skills.
In addition, Defined supports statewide initiatives such as Wisconsin's Strategic Plan including the Innovative Education Initiative, helping districts guide students in exploring careers, setting goals, and tracking readiness for college, career, and life. Our comprehensive ecosystem of career-connected deeper learning resources also empowers schools to advance their Portrait of a Graduate or locally defined graduate profiles through high-quality content and assessments aligned to Wisconsin's priorities.
Career-Connected Learning
Defined’s comprehensive career-connected learning platform supports the implementation of Wisconsin's ACP Framework, a statewide initiative that empowers students in grades 6–12 to explore careers, set goals, and connect learning to their future aspirations. Our resources help districts strengthen career and technical education (CTE) by aligning classroom experiences to Wisconsin’s Career Clusters and Pathways, ensuring every student engages in meaningful, career-connected learning aligned to state workforce needs.
Through engaging hands-on and minds-on projects, students build career awareness, reflect on their interests and strengths, and gain authentic experiences tied to Wisconsin’s Regional Career Pathways (RCPs) and Perkins V priorities. Defined also supports districts in advancing the Wisconsin Employability Skills Certificate Program and integrating Portrait of a Graduate competencies, equipping students with the skills, mindsets, and experiences they need to make informed choices — whether they pursue postsecondary education, enter the workforce, or both.

Computer Science & STEM
From artificial intelligence to renewable energy, today’s challenges demand strong computer science and STEM skills. Defined helps Wisconsin educators prepare K-12 students for these high-demand fields through career-connected, deeper learning experiences that bridge classroom concepts with real-world applications.
Defined’s engaging projects align with the Wisconsin Academic Standards for Science, Mathematics, and Computer Science, supporting the state’s vision for STEM literacy and computational thinking for all learners. Our resources also advance the goals outlined in Wisconsin’s Plan for Equity in Computer Science and CTE initiatives, helping districts expand access to high-quality, inclusive STEM and computer science education.
Through project-based learning and authentic problem-solving experiences, students gain the critical thinking, collaboration, and digital fluency skills emphasized in Wisconsin’s STEM Forward initiatives and ACP Framework — empowering them to explore and pursue future-ready careers in STEM and computer science fields.
